Due to potential corona infection in Ark 6, all studios (311, 313, 315 and 317) will be closed today. New information will be given this evening when the test results are available.

Cancellation

Due to potential corona infection, we have decided to postpone Birgit Cold's lecture once more. I will let you know more about the situation (hopefully) before noon today.

Casestudies - preliminary hand-ins

In order to keep up the intensity of further work on the casestudies, we want you to hand in drafts at the following dates:

Part I: Draft
Part II: Specifying / narrowing down of research question
Proposal for structure (disposisjon) of the text with keyword and/or notes on the contents
Preliminary list of literature

30. April
Part II: First draft

The drafts should be sent by e-mail to Jørgen and Eli, and you will also get feedback by e-mail.

Assignment 2

Eli will be in the Studio for tutoring on Thursday morning between 9 and 11.

Lecture on Thursday

The lecture on "Temporariness and housing" by Eli is for another course: Globalization and urban development. You are welcome to join in room K28 on Thursday 12.3 at 12:15-14:00

Visit to Svartlamon - new time

The visit to Svartlamon will start at 10am instead of 9am. We meet outside Strandveien 29

Visit to Svartlamon

On Friday 21. February from 9-12, we will visit Svartlamon. Kathrine Standahl, manager of Svartlamon Housing Association, will present the history of the neighborhood and tell us about how it is organised. Vidar Vollan from the city planning office will tell about Bopilot and the ideas of a new housing project. Afterwards Kathrine will give us a tour in the area and finally we will walk over to Nyhavna.

Reading list

Here is a list of mandatory and optional readings for the course. The list will be extended, but this should be enough as a start. Most articles and some of the reports are available at the server. The books (if they not available as e-books) are at the library in a 'blocked shelft' (sperret hylle) for AAR4510.

Start-up exercise – HOUSING FASCINATIONS

We would like you all to do a small exercise before we start. Prepare a short presentation (max 15 min) with slides where you:

1. Present yourself – with focus on your educational background and the reasons why you selected the housing design studio this semester (with this specific topic)
2. Present one housing project that has fascinated (understood as inspired and/or challenged) you and explain why

Housing Design Start-up

Welcome to the Housing Design Studio - Spring 2020! We will start on Tuesday 4.February at 10:15 in room KJL21 (Kjelhuset). Our course will be a part of Studio Nyhavna, together with the Large buildings and Ark 6 this semester. Those of you who are present on Monday 3. February may therefore also attend the introduction to Studio Nyhavna in Studio 313 at 10:15-11:00 (in Norwegian).
Your working area will be in Studio 311 together with Large buildings and a group from Ark6.

Path to the server

You should be able to access the ntnu server and our folder there. The path to the server is: ab-stud -> kurs -> 4510 -> 2020. (the folder "2020" will soon be up).
